Hugh Logan:
Hugh lives in Lansdowne Valley on the west side of Banks Peninsula. He has had a lifetime of experience on Banks Peninsula, with an intimate association with Te Ahu Pātiki going back to school days, tramping, rock-climbing and getting to know the rich natural and cultural history of the Peninsula. In his other life, Hugh has headed three government agencies, what is now called Antarctica New Zealand, the Department of Conservation, and the Ministry for the Environment. He has been a university lecturer, chaired government and regional council committees, acted as a consultant and report writer. Hugh is a published author, and written numerous peer reviewed (and non-peer reviewed!) articles. He has an M.A. with first class honours in history and a PhD in environmental public policy, and a Queens Service Medal for his contributions immediately following the Air New Zealand DC-10 disaster on Mt. Erebus.
