Track Update - March 27
Great news for Easter weekend
After weeks of hard work behind the scenes, we’re delighted to share that tracks on Te Ahu Pātiki will be open in time for Easter. Our team has been putting in a huge effort to assess damage, carry out repairs, and make the tracks safe and enjoyable again, and it’s fantastic to see that work coming together.
A heads up before you head out: There is still a lot of mud on the tracks, so please come prepared with sturdy footwear and allow extra time. Conditions may be slippery in places.
Please note: Faulkners Track will remain closed.
As you head out over the long weekend, we encourage you to:
• take care on recently reopened tracks
• respect any signage and closures
• be prepared for muddy conditions
• enjoy being back out on the maunga
A big thank you to everyone involved in getting us to this point , we can’t wait to see people back out exploring Te Ahu Pātiki this Easter.

It includes the summits of Mt Herbert Te Ahu Pātiki and Mt Bradley, the two highest peaks in the wider Ōtautahi Christchurch area. The whenua is protected by a QE11 Covenant and its track network is gazetted with Herenga ā Nuku as part of the Te Ara Pātaka track network.
